About Us

Certitude was formed in April 2010 after the successful merger of Southside Partnership and Support for Living. Certitude provides leadership, support and direction to its group members.

The group supports over 1,700 people with learning disabilities or mental health support needs in London boroughs and neighbouring counties. Over 650 staff are employed and the group has a combined turnover in the region of £25m.

Certitude exists to:

  • provide leadership to group organisations
  • develop group strategy
  • ensure the highest standards of quality
  • support services administratively
  • deliver value for money

We believe that by working together and sharing expertise we can offer better opportunities for people to lead independent lives that are truly their own.

Our group history

Established in 1991 Southside Partnership works in ten local authority areas around Greater London.  It supports around 1300 people with mental health needs and learning disabilities.  Southside runs several highly-acclaimed projects focussed on assisting people back into the workplace.  These include Home and Dry, a painting and decorating service, and Beyond Prison, a prison resettlement service.  In addition, Southside is recognised as having particular expertise in supporting people from black, minority and ethnic backgrounds.

Support for Living was established in 1990 with the original purpose of supporting people with learning disabilities to move from long stay hospitals into the local community. The organisation now supports over 550 adults in West London offering a wide range of support packages with a particular focus on high support needs.

How we are regulated

We pride ourselves on our ability to provide excellent quality support. This is validated by external bodies who regulate our work, such as the Care Quality Commission and the borough councils. Read more about our regulators and our services.
