SELF: Portraits in Social Care

What do you see when you look in the mirror? How would you describe your face? Tell us something about yourself…

These three questions form the basis of SELF: Portraits in Social Care, which looks at how people view themselves, their identity and their self-image.

SELF sets out to humanise the people behind the labels in social care – intimate, inspiring and engaging – against the backdrop of austerity, negligence and ‘victims’ so often portrayed by the media.

SELF is currently touring London, having visited 5 boroughs across 2017 with more exhibitions planned for 2018. Photographers Mike Tinney and Dean Belcher have produced the first 2 seasons.

We are looking for more photographers and models for future seasons! For more information, please contact Jake at
