Trevor’s story

Trevor works within Certitude – he supports people who have mental health needs and learning disabilities and he also leads a project going into secondary schools in London running gang awareness and prevention workshops. Trevor’s life used to be very different – he has spent over half of his adult life in prison and up until recently had never worked for a living.

In the following two films, Trevor explains what his life used to be like and how it has changed for the better.

I found this to be a very inspirational documentary. Trevor’s testimony is evident, that our troubles, adversities and obstacles can only strengthen. He has been able to change and turn his life around which has enabled him to become a very productive member of society. I am very proud of your journey, keep up the good work. This quote seems relevant….”The successful man will profit from his mistakes and try again in a different way” Dale Carnegie

WOW…… I really did not expect to hear what i heard. Big up to you Trevor. You truly are an inspiration and living proof that it can happen, if you really want it. One of my best friends from school went through a very similar life experience to yourself; she too has also come out on the other side like you. I was touched, really and truly touched. Big up

Hi Trev, just watched and I have to say that I am very proud of you. Giving back your experience and advise to the community seems to me,that this is what you was meant to do in life…help others.
From when I knew you back in the day…. I actually couldn’t put my finger on it on what it was that was beating you up? But when I knew what it was… truly I did not know what to think. I have been through some battles of my own caused by depression, so now after many years I understand it. When you learn to love and forgive yourself thats when you truly find yourself. And thats why I am so proud of you. My mum died about three years ago in April, and that was the crunch for me to truly look at myself and my future and fix myself. I think what you are doing is amazing!

Trev I am forever proud of you! I have watched you come through so many obstacle`s and struggles but through all of it you always had hope. The change in you brings hope for many people who are stuck in a prison and seeing you will unlock that door of change. The most amazing thing out of all of this is you are giving back to what was given to you.

Interesting and informative Part II.Certitude has given Trevor the platform to excel in just being himself. With this tool he has been able to reach out to so many others and to enable them on their journey also! Finally got a chance to watch the 2nd part of this documentary, and I was pleased to see the progression in this project. Its a great programme which benefits all ages, and it inspires us parents to try & be a good influential role model in our families. Especially the ones who are single parent and have to spread ourselves thin. We only want our children to live a fulfilling life, strong and independent without falling in the trap of drugs & crime. Trevor has found his purpose, as a mentor and I am totally proud of him.
