We’re really excited to announce a year long partnership between Sainsbury’s Balham and Certitude! We’ll be working hard together throughout 2014-15 to raise awareness of Certitude’s work in the Wandsworth borough and funds for specific projects within our local services. This partnership is the first of it’s kind that Certitude has entered into and represents a big step in a totally new direction. We’ll be marking the start of this partnership with a launch event in store from 11am on 30th August.

Certitude’s Community Fundraiser, Sam Mason, said ‘Sainsbury’s local charity partnerships are a brilliant way for charities like ours to connect with the local community and we know the real difference it has made
to people lives in Wandsworth to date. This partnership is about us building bridges and connecting with the community in Wandsworth and showing local people what it means to have a learning disability in this area. Any funds raised will be put into specific projects within Certitude and will be used to extend our services in Wandsworth. These services will add real quality to local people’s lives – we can’t wait to get to work!’

Store Manager, John Stanton, added ‘We’ve had a great response from our customers this year, both through in-store and online votes. We’re delighted to have chosen a charity which touched many of our colleagues’ hearts. We will now be working closely with the charity to ensure they really benefit from being our Local
Charity for the next 12 months”

This partnership is part of Sainsbury’s Local Charity Initiative, a scheme which has raises more than a million pounds a year for local charities.
